Alphonse (Al) Matulevich, 84 and a 56-year resident of Glen Burnie, MD passed away on October 23, 2013. Al was born in Boston, MA on June 21, 1929. He served in the U.S. Army 526th Armored Infantry Battalion in Fort Knox, KY from 1947-48. After military service, Al attended Boston College and graduated in 1953 with a B.S. degree in Mathematics. Later that year, he married Marilyn L. Haegeman also of Boston on August 29, 1953. After receiving his degree, Al served with FBI from 1953 to 1962. He worked in the FBI's Washington, DC Laboratory and the Charlotte, NC and Baltimore, MD field offices as a Special Agent. He retired as Deputy Director of the Department of Defense Computer Institute in 1994 after a 30 year career with the Federal government. Al is survived by his wife Marilyn and four children: James, Stephen, Karen (Freburger) and Lisa (Corbitt); six grandchildren and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity.
