Barbara Jean Pompanio

Barbara Jean Pompanio, 87, resident of Millersville, died on Saturday, May 10, 2025, under the care of Baltimore Washington Medical Center. She was born on Monday, January 17, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland, at Union Memorial Hospital, to David Clarence and Minnie Lee (Peacock) Alther. Barbara loved being outside and loved babies, any baby, relation or not. She also loved teapots, flowers, butterflies and romantic music. In her younger years, she belonged to the Starduster Club, where she took several trips, attended several parties and several dances with them. She was known to cut the rug and do the jitterbug with her man. She loved life and those that surrounded her. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Barbara is preceded by her parents, David Clarence and Minnie Lee (Peacock) Alther; her husband, Raymond Pompanio and her siblings; Larry, Buddy, Francis, Martha, Eleanor, Charles, Shirley, her twin Betty Jane and Ronnie. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Chaney, Karen Pompanio, Toni Jarvis and Gina Pompanio; her grandchildren, Raymond Chaney, Alexandra Roosen (Zach) and Brittney Jarvis and her great grandchild, Harlan Roosen.

Family and friends may call at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, May 18th, 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral service, Monday, May 19th, 12:30pm, at the funeral home. Interment is private.
