Barbara B. Saunders

Barbara Jane (Baker) Saunders, 82, resident of Hanover, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. Barbara was born in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday, December 19, 1941, to Robert and Hilda Edith (Baker) Baker. Barbara graduated from Eastern Female High School in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1959. She was a receptionist for Joel Katz Law Firm for over 25 years. She was a parishioner of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Bowie, Maryland for over 20 years, until she moved to Hanover in 1995, after the death of her husband, George Allen Saunders, Sr. Barbara loved the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. She loved Nascar and was part of a league for over 15 years, which she did well in and gained many friends from. She enjoyed watching her soaps, the Bachelor and the Bachelorette. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by them.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Baker and Hilda Edith (Baker) Baker; and her husband, George Allen Saunders, Sr. She is survived by her two sons, George Allen Saunders, Jr. (Donna) of Centreville and Robert Beauchamp Saunders (Laura) of Hanover and her two granddaughters, Emma Saunders and Rachel Saunders.
