Bernell Barton

Bernell Barton, 83, Linthicum resident, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Bernell was born in Pembroke, North Carolina, on Sunday, September 14, 1941, to Fernie and Lousianna (Locklear) Barton. Bernell has been a Maryland resident for over 41 years and was a very hard worker. He worked in construction and was a master at hanging drywall. Even after retiring from hard labor, he worked part time for Enterprise. He enjoyed racing and would travel to see the NASCAR races when he was younger with his son. Bernell always enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens, a true fan he was. He was also a very loving father, always very supportive of his family, kind and gentle. Couldn't have asked for a better father/grandfather. He will be missed by so many of his family and friends.

Bernell is preceded by his parents, Fernie Barton and Lousianna (Locklear) Barton; his wife, Patricia Jane (Robbins) Barton; and several siblings. He is survived by his children, William Bernell Barton (Lisa) of York, Pa. and Karen L. Frankenfield (Kevin) of Severn; his devoted girlfriend, Eartha Pierce of Pasadena; his siblings, Herman Barton (Mary Katie) of Pembroke, NC, Donell Barton (Shevie) of Augusta, GA and Vashtie Locklear of Pembroke, NC; and his 5 grandchildren, Tyler Barton, Corey Barton, Noah Frankenfield, Hailey Frankenfield and Jeremy Frankenfield.

Family and friends may call at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8pm. Funeral service, Thursday, 10am, at the funeral home. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
