Betty Lee "Meimer" Jacobs, a lifetime resident of Anne Arundel County, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 28, 2015. Born in Baltimore, MD to the late James and Bertie Coulbourn (Donaldson). Betty graduated from Glen Burnie High School. She worked at Fort George G Meade Military base for several years. In 1956 she met the love of her life, Joe L. Jacobs. They married in 1957 at the Brooklyn Methodist Church in Brooklyn Park, MD. They honeymooned in Jackson, Mississippi. They bought their first house in Marley, MD where their son, Jeffrey was born. They later built their "forever home" in Glen Burnie, MD where their daughter Kelly was born. Over the years they owned several businesses, Metropolitan Ambulance Service, Chicken Roost Restaurant Chain (with 7 stores in total) and Metro Recording Studios. She loved to dance, travel, cook, teach Sunday school and spending time with family. Betty was an avid country music lover. For over 50 years, she and Joe entertained friends and family every Friday night in their home by playing live country music. She was also a member of Glen Burnie Baptist Church, Lost in the 50's Car Club and Classic Thunderbird Club of Maryland. Betty is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joe L. Jacobs of Glen Burnie; son, Jeffrey L. Jacobs and his wife Kim of Glen Burnie; daughter, Kelly L. Jacobs of Dallas, TX; granddaughters, Gretchen Jacobs Kelleher and her husband, David of Pasadena, Brittany L. Jacobs of Madison, WI, Jessica L. Jacobs of Pasadena; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Sarah, Chase and Leo. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald L. Coulbourn and James S. Coulbourn, Jr.
