Suddenly, on Monday, May 26, 2025, Beverly Ann Kornegay Cleveland, 63, resident of Hanover, was called home to be with our Savior.
Beverly was born in Washington, DC., on Monday, September 4, 1961, to Robert Kornegay and Brenda Elaine Kennedy Butler. She graduated from St Patrick's Academy in 1979 and attended the University of the District of Columbia, where she received her BA in Anthropology and Sociology. Beverly moved to Maryland with her children in 2006, eventually settling in Hanover in 2018. She was employed by the Federal Government at NIH as a Divisional Lead, while also pursuing a Master's in Social Work. She never hesitated to help someone in need and always sought to make a difference in their lives. Beverly was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. When she wasn’t serving the Lord or helping people, she always found herself near water or a beach, where she could enjoy a boat ride and a seafood dinner. Holidays spent with family were a must and always included a grilled hot dog, no matter the season; Christmas being her favorite. Beverly loved her family very much and cherished every moment with them. Her laugh, playful spirit, and gracious heart will be missed by many.
Beverly is preceded by her parents, Robert Kornegay and Brenda Elaine Butler. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda, Angela, and Ashley; her siblings, Benjamin, Robert Jr., and Roland Jr.; and her grand cats, Rocky, Tubbs, and Charlie.
Family and friends may visit at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1600 Morris Rd SE, Washington, DC, on Monday, June 9th, for a visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow immediately at 11:00 am. Interment at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
