Bruce Lee Seaton, 65, of Severn, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Bruce was born on September 24, 1957, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, to Ira W. and Lois E. (Glisan) Seaton, Sr. He graduated from Brownsville High School in 1975 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from California University of Pennsylvania in 1979. After college, Bruce moved to Maryland to work for the Department of Defense. He retired in 2020 after a 40-year career.
Bruce was a lifelong Boy Scout and served as a scout leader for many years. He was also an avid train collector, woodworker, and antique car enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Bruce is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cynthia Jean (Fetzeck) Seaton; his children, Matthew Paul Seaton of Baltimore City and Nicole Oppenheim of Dallas, Texas; his siblings, Ira "Skip" W. Seaton, Jr. (Debbie) of New Salem, Pennsylvania, Jerry Dale Seaton (Mary) of Lake Anna, Virginia, and Bryan Scott Seaton (Roxanne) of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; and his grandchildren, Henry and Elliott Oppenheim.
A memorial service for Bruce will be held on Thursday, June 22nd from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Kirkley-Ruddick in Glen Burnie, MD. The service will be followed by a private interment. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Bruce's memory. Donations can be made online at www.donate.cancer.org.
Bruce will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a kind, loving, and generous man who always put others before himself. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of life, and his dedication to his family and friends.
