Carolyn L. Oster

On February 6, 2012, Carolyn L. Oster, a 25 year resident of Ferndale, passed away after a courageous batter with cancer. She was 64. Beloved companion of 17 years to Walter Marvin Bury Sr.; Devoted mother of Renae L. Meineke of Pasadena; Loving sister of John R. Menefee of Ellicott City, Gregory L. Menefee of Ferndale, Mark A. Menefee of Winfield and Grant E. Menefee of Catonsville; Cherished grandmother of two and adopted grandmother of eight. Carolyn in also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Doris Menefee. A 1965 graduate of Catonsville High School, Carolyn worked for the University of Maryland in Human Resources for over 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed NASCAR, shopping, collecting snowmen and eating crabs. She loved being on her iPad and spending time in her flower garden. Carolyn liked to travel and spent time at Ocean City, going on cruises, spending time in the mountains of Pennsylvania or riding on the bike of Marvin's motorcycle. She was an excellent cook and was known for her delicious coconut cake that she made entirely from scratch. Most especially, she loved spending time with her family, all her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Harley.
