Carolyn Niemann Smith, 95, former resident of Berlin, Maryland, died on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Terraces of Westminster Assisted Living.
Carolyn was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on Thursday, August 29, 1929, to Michael and Audrey (McIntyre) Niemann. She was a Program Analyst for the Social Security Administration for over 33 years when she retired from there. She was also a faithful parishioner at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Littlestown, Pa.
Carolyn is preceded by her parents, Michael Niemann and Audrey (McIntyre) Niemann; her husband, William Joseph Smith, Jr.; her siblings, Charles Niemann, Gloria Malich, Herman Niemann and Michele Stoll; her brothers-in-laws, Walter Malich and Kenneth Stoll, and her sisters-in-laws, Nelda, Sandy and Mary Niemann. She is survived by her son, William Joseph Smith, III. (Margaret); her brother, Max Niemann; her grandchildren, Joshua A. Smith (Kathea), Jackie Heine (Steve) and her great grandchildren, Maggie Heine, Ben Heine, and Eli Smith.
Family and friends may visit the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Friday, 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, 11am at the funeral home. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
