Catherine Ellen Lerie

Catherine Ellen Lerie (nee Walega) was born on October 27, 1946, in Baltimore, MD, to Peter and Margaret Knoll Walega. Catherine was a 1964 graduate of Southern High School in Baltimore. She spent the majority of her life residing in South Baltimore on Jackson Street, and was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She worked at Title Guarantee as a title officer for nearly 20 years. Catherine and her husband Michael moved to Glen Burnie in 2012 where they made their home. Catherine loved watching sports, especially the Orioles, the Ravens, and University of MD Basketball. She treasured spending time with Michael as well as her extended family, supporting numerous nieces and nephews in their various endeavors. She loved vacationing in Ocean City. She also enjoyed duckpin bowling in her younger years. In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by beloved stepdaughter Kristine Lerie; and dear siblings and in-laws Phyllis Lewis (Marion), Donald Walega, Richard Walega, Adam Lerie (Carolyn), Joel Lerie (Virginia), Carl Lerie (Letitia), Richard Antoniotti (Linda), and Mary Ellen Antoniotti.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 38 years Michael Lerie; dear stepdaughter Kimberly Lerie; cherished grandson Ryan Downing; loyal siblings and in-laws Connie Kalb (Bob), John Walega (Anna), and Grace Walega.

Catherine was a beloved family member and a friend to all who knew her, near and far. Catherine was a special and most kind soul. She was most happy surrounded by her family and has undoubtably been welcomed into Heaven by her family members who have passed before her.

Family and friends may visit at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, February 15, 2026, 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:00am, Interment immediately following at Glen Haven Memorial Park .
