Cathrine "Virginia" Downing

Born Cathrine Virginia Paulis in Baltimore, MD on January 18, 1938 to the late Mr. Albert Paulis and Mrs. Geneva (nee Chilcote) Paulis. Everyone that knew Mrs. Downing called her Virginia. As a longtime resident of Glen Burnie Mrs. Downing worked a popular local restaurant, The Sunset, as manager for over 20 years. When she was not at work, tending to the needs of her family, or involved in activities at Harundale Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Downing enjoyed doing ceramics. She was a devoted wife to her husband, loving mother to her 2 children, and caring grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Virginia Downing passed away peacefully with her family by her side at home on February 1, 2019. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Downing was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. William Downing. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two children son, Mr. Stephen Downing and his wife Aimee and daughter Mrs. Laura Horton and her husband John. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Angela Williams, David Dilley, Teresa Dilley, Jesse Dilley, and Michaela Moon as well as her great-grandchildren Monica, Emilee, Miranda, Aaliyah, Justice, Damond, Heaven, Madison, Michael, and Baby. Her love will live on in the hearts of her friends and family.
