Charles T. Peebles

March 6, 1942 — January 30, 2023

Windsor Mill

He was born March 6, 1942 in Wrens, Georgia to the late James Thomas and Lillian Lorene Cato Peebles. Mr. Peebles was a resident of Millersville for over 50 years prior to moving to Windsor Mill in 2018. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 4 years in the early 60’s. Charles was a Communications Technician for Lucent Technologies where he worked on the communications equipment of major corporations.  He was a founding member of Elvaton Baptist Church and later an active member of Severna Park Baptist Church. Mr. Peebles was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. His family described him as a good provider who was financially astute.  He enjoyed reading his morning paper, watching the Ravens, NASCAR and golf but he was a passionate fan of the Orioles. Charles worked as an usher at Memorial Stadium during Oriole games in the '60's and '70's and that is where he met his wife. In addition to his parents he is preceded by his beloved wife Phyllis Santmyer Peebles, brothers Ronnie and Jimmy Peebles (Deborah). Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Kimberly Heard (Cliff) of Gwynn Oak, son Kurt Peebles (Autumn) of Richmond, VA,  brother James Peebles (Marilyn), sisters Linda Boyd, Ginger Davis, Sarah Frances Miller, Dorothy Wood (Joby) & Patricia Templeton. He is also survived by grandchildren Amber (Will), Kylee, Candace, Collin, Jacob, Kera and Luke, great-grandchildren Sammy and J.J., a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and caregivers Kristin, Rachelle, Angela and Zee.  He passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice after being in declining health for several years.
