Charles Frederick Wheeler, Jr.

Charles Frederick Wheeler Jr., 72, Millersville MD passed away on February 01, 2016.  Fred is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet, Son Michael Wheeler (Niki) of Vienna, VA, Daughter-in-Law Tracy (Paul) of Millersville, MD., and Granddaughter, Haven.

Fred was born and spent his early childhood in Manhattan, NY. He moved to White Marsh, MD when he was 9, and made Maryland his lifelong home.  He entered the Navy at 17 which allowed him to see the world, including a yearlong tour of the Mediterranean.  Upon his discharge, he pursued a career in retail management, where he worked at Tuerkes and Beckers for 24 years.

Fred was a family man.  He married Janet, the love of his life, in 1968.  Together the raised two sons, Michael and Scott.  He was able to share his love for the outdoors with his boys, with frequent skiing and boating trips, sharing his passion for sports, and taking numerous vacations.  In addition to being a proud father and husband, throughout his life, Fred pursued many personal passions.  He was an active member of the Masons, enjoyed tinkering with electronics, had a knack for rebuilding cars, and found joy in nature photography.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy, and Son Scott.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Millersville (8249 Jumpers Hole Road, Millersville MD 21108).  Following service, family will receive guests at Libations on Veterans Hwy.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scott Wheeler 5051 Foundation ( www.scottwheeler5051.org P.O.
