On February 8, 2011, Chris Russell Smith, age 52, a lifelong resident of Brooklyn Park, passed away at his home after battling the disease ALS. Beloved husband of 28 years to Ginger Smith (nee Taylor); Loving son of Ethel Hodges and the late Joseph A. Smith; Devoted father of Robert Smith and Dona Smith-Ball; Caring son-in-law of Edmond and Imogene Taylor; Dearest brother of Thomas, Martin and Donald Smith and the late Joseph "Skip" Smith; Cherished Pop-Pop of Candace Ball, Chucky and Alexandria Smith-Ball and Brandon, Andrew and Emily Smith.
Chris was employed as a group leader for William T. Burnett for 31 years. He was always strong as a bull and a hard worker. He has so many friends and coworkers that loved him as he did them. Chris was a very devoted husband and his favorite thing was spending time with his wife Ginger. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, family and friends. Chris enjoy church, fishing, gardening, reading, camping, swimming, carpentry, the ocean and music. He also loved to watch the History channel. Chris was a fun-loving man with a compasionate heart. He was a devoted Christian.
