Christine V. Weber

Christine Virginia Weber (nee Landis) departed this world surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 2, 2016.  She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Samuel I. Weber, Jr. and also brothers Harold, George and Kenesaw Landis.

She is survived by her daughters Samma Cariaso, Lana Rider and her husband Joe, and son Gary Weber and his wife Debbie. Christine also had seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; Tara Cariaso and husband Aaron Elson, Jessica Thompson, Michael Rider, Megan Rogers and her husband Ryan, Mia Catthell and her husband Greg, Andrew Weber, Miles Weber, Skyler Thompson, Nadya and Kieran Elson, and Ava and Aston Rogers.  She is also survived by sister-in-law, Doris Ecelbarger and many nieces and nephews.

Christine was born in Massillon, OH and her family later moved to Deer Park, MD when she was 4 years old.  She graduated from Oakland High School in 1940 and the University of Maryland, School of Nursing in 1947.  She married Samuel I. Weber, Jr. on October 8, 1947 and later moved to Glen Burnie, MD.

As a registered nurse, she worked for the University of Maryland after graduation and then went onto work for the state, at the Maryland State Penitentiary, where she retired in 1981.

Christine enjoyed and loved all of her grand and great grand-children and relished spending time with them. She had many hobbies, including gardening, canning, sewing and quilting. She loved visiting the family property in Deer Park, MD and spending time planting flowers and gardens there as well as watching the wild life.

Arrangements made by Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home,P.A. 421 Crain Highway, S.E., Glen Burnie, MD 21061.  Visitation on ­­­­­­Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9.  A service will be held during the evening visitation to celebrate and remember Christine’s life.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
