Darlene F. Erich

Darlene Frances Erich, 83, Delaware resident, died unexpectedly at her residence on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Darlene was born on Monday, December 30, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Wesley and Helene (Smith) Clayton. She was born & raised in Baltimore and her husband Robert and she raised her family there also. Darlene was a Dietician and worked for the Maryland Manor Nursing Home for many years. 17 years ago, she and her husband moved to Delaware to enjoy retirement life even more. Darlene also enjoyed crocheting, especially baby clothes. She enjoyed bowling and going to dances in her earlier years with her husband. Cooking and baking was also something she really enjoyed, and even made wedding cakes for family throughout the years. Of course she enjoyed their vacations together and her love for Elvis is unforgettable. But all of the above didn't bring her as much joy and happiness as her family did, -THE BOYS! Everything she did and everything that surrounded her was for her children , her grandchildren and her great grandchildren; she lived for THEM.  And because of that, she will be greatly missed by so many of us left behind.

Darlene is preceded by her parents, Wesley and Helene (Smith) Clayton; her husband Robert Charles Erich, Sr., and her son, Robert Charles Erich, Jr. She is survived by her boys, John Erich of Maryland, Carlyle Erich of Delaware and William Erich of Maryland; her grandchildren, Chadwick, Robert, William Jr., Matthew, Gail, Joshua, Jacob, Faith, Gavin & Paige and 9 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, November 2nd, 1-3pm and 5-7pm. Funeral service 6pm. Interment private.
