Darlene Joyce Gerkin Call

Darlene Joyce Gerkin Call, 79, resident of Severn, died on Monday, February 10, 2025, under hospice care.

Darlene was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday, March 17, 1945, to Charles William Gerkin, Sr. and Louise Gladys (Deringer) Gerkin. Darlene lived her entire life here in Maryland and was a homemaker for over 30 years. She enjoyed playing pool and was in leagues when she was younger. Darlene enjoyed watching her soap operas, listening to country music and going to the Moose in Glen Burnie. And she absolutely loved her two dogs, Charlie, the Westie and Surprise, the Maltese. She will be missed by her family.

Darlene is preceded by her parents, Charles William Gerkin, Sr. and Louise Gladys (Deringer) Gerkin. She is survived by her husband, George Call of Severn; her stepchildren, Mary Jane Latgis of Cumberland and Johnny Call of Severn; her step grandchildren, her brother, Charles W. Gerkin, Jr. and Eilene of Arnold; her sister, Helena Cecilia Davies (Thomas E. Davies, Jr.) of Glen Burnie.

Family and friends may visit at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Friday, February 14, 2025, 3-5pm only. Chapel service, Saturday, 11am, at the Glen Haven Memorial Park. Interment to follow.
