David Brent “Pop” Bean, Sr. was born October 28, 1944 in St. Mary’s County, MD to the late J. Lloyd Bean and Catherine Tennyson Bean. Mr. Bean was a resident of Glen Burnie for the past 54 years. During his working life he served as an Engineer for the State of Maryland. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Pop was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan, enjoyed playing poker with his poker friends, family trips to Ocean City, listening to oldies, doing word seeks, and attending all his grandchildren’s activities. He was their number one fan. Most of all, he treasured his time spent with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his beloved wife of 41 years Joanne T. Travers Bean, brothers Joseph, Ernest and James “Bud” Bean and sister Mary Catherine Hale. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Deborah B. Fluhr & son-in-law Neil Fluhr of Pasadena, cherished grandchildren Sean, Makenna and Winnie Fluhr, nieces Sue Matthews, Jennifer Mason, Juliana Williamson and Anna Topper, nephew Jimmy Bean, and sister-in-law Louise Bean. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
