Deborah Carter (nee Batang) was born September 20, 1972 in Baltimore, Maryland to Antonio Batang and Deborah Batang (Simmons). Debbie to her friends and family was a long-time resident of Glen Burnie and worked for nearly 20 years in the senior living industry as a Business Office Assistant Manager and in Human Relations of a well-known senior community. During her distinguished career, Debbie earned many industry certifications and was beloved by both staff and residents.
During her teenage years, she went on a memorable trip with her beloved father to his home country where she connected with distant family and learned to embrace the beauty of Filipino culture. Particularly, she loved cooking dishes that were reminiscent of her time in the Philippines.
She had many hobbies and interests she enjoyed throughout her life including painting, decorating, and watching movies. Debbie would take trips to Ocean City and Hershey Park with friends and family – especially with her daughter Kelly Carter. Debbie was also an animal lover and cared for two cockatiels named Boo and Lucy and later on two beagles. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Deborah passed away peacefully at Harbor Hospital on April 6, 2022. Deborah was the beloved daughter of Antonio and Deborah Batang of Brooklyn Park, devoted mother of Kelly Nicole Carter (Joseph McCauley) of Glen Burnie, cherished sister to Antonio Batang (Stephanie) of Ft. Meade, Elaine Batang of Baltimore and Lisa Norris of PA, loving aunt to AJ, Ashley, and great aunt of Ellie Mae.
