Dolores Sharon Strauss

Dolores “Sharon” Strauss, 77 of Glen Burnie, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at her home.

Born December 23, 1946, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Charles and Dolores (Birch) Christie.  One of four sisters and four brothers, she spent her childhood growing up in the Waverly neighborhood.

Sharon was a loving mother who devoted herself to raising her sons.   She worked at Bass Pro Shop in Arundel Mills Mall for more than 20 years, until her retirement.  Sharon enjoyed family vacations at the ocean, romance novels, and making friends.

Surviving her is son Norman Abrams of Glen Burnie, Douglas Abrams and his wife Joan of Sykesville; grandchild Madison Hanes and her husband Steven of Waynesboro PA; great grandchildren Evalyn Knight, Magnus and Luca Hanes; siblings Bob, Tom, and Jackie Christie.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by sisters Mary Ellen Moore, Ann Jacobsen, and Marie Zeigler; brother Jimmy Christie; granddaughter Kathleen Abrams.  A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
