Donald R. Dressel was born December 17, 1933 in Baltimore, MD to the late George and Irene Short Dressel and he has lived in Glen Burnie for the past 40 years, moving from Parkville. He was a graduate of Polytechnic High School which led him to his career at Westinghouse. He retired from Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman after 42 years as an inspector on radar system architectures. He was a former member of the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge and MD Lacrosse Club. Donald was an avid sports fan who enjoyed lacrosse, football and basketball. He played lacrosse well into adulthood and coached as well. He also enjoyed working on his 1994 Olds Silhouette van, travelling and taking cruises. Left to cherish his memory are his life partner Jessie Russell of Glen Burnie, children Donald Dressel, Jr. of Mt. Airy (Pam), Mark Dressel of Selbyville, DE (Jenny), Scott Dressel of Florida, Christopher Dressel of Parkville (Terry) as well as Denise Sullivan of Glen Burnie (Russell), Peggy Shehan of Baltimore and Thomas Russell of West Virginia (Ruth). Mr. Dressel is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family.
Family and friends may visit at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Monday, January 12th from 11:00am - 1:00pm. Funeral service immediately following at 1:00pm. Interment on Tuesday, January 13th, 10:30am at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
