Dorothy Elsie Kinnard

Dorothy E. Kinnard, 89, resident of Glen Burnie, died peacefully on September 11, 2026, under hospice care. Dorothy was born on February 23, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, and was the cherished daughter of William Henry Blanchard, 3rd, and Dorothy E. (Moreau) Blanchard.

Dorothy grew up in South Baltimore and graduated from Southern High School as a member of the class of 1955. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to creating a warm, nurturing home for her family, raising three sons and three daughters with care, patience, and love.

She possessed a creative spirit and a keen curiosity, enjoying a variety of hobbies throughout her life. Dorothy found great joy in participating in historical, revolutionary group reenactments with her sons and grandsons, enjoyed the detailed craft of doll making and collecting anything dolls, sewing clothing for reenactments, clothing and costumes, quilting, cooking and baking many old time recipes, listening to oldies music and traveling.

She is remembered with deep love and affection by her three daughters, extended family, and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Blanchard, 3rd, and Dorothy E. (Moreau) Blanchard; ), Elmer D. Gosnell Jr., Ronald W. Gosnell, Elizabeth Collins (James H. Gosnell). She is survived by her daughters, Janice M. Silver, Cathy J. Bradel and Dorothy A. Maurice; her brother, William Henry Blanchard, 4th; her 8 grandchildren, her 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Family and friends may visit the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 2-6 pm. Funeral service, Friday 1:30, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
