Edward F. Lathrop Jr.

Edward Flint “Ed” Lathrop Jr. died suddenly on October 27, 2009 at his home in Glen Burnie, MD.  Ed was born on September 22, 1947 in Annapolis, MD, to Kathryn Strange Lathrop and Edward F. Lathrop Sr.  He graduated from Annapolis High School in 1965 and Towson University with a degree in History. He was employed by the Social Security Administration and the MD State Office of Unemployment.  From 1965 to 1969, he served in the U.S. Air Force.  While serving as a medic in Vietnam, Ed was wounded and subsequently awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star V.   He had a lifelong interest in the cause of Vietnam veterans and was active in VFW Post 160 and the M.O.C.  Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years Joyce Lathrop of Glen Burnie and his loving sister Kathryn Gifford of Arnold.
