Elaine F. Koontz

Elaine Fuchs Koontz formerly of Pasadena, Maryland passed away on October 1, 2011 in Mt. Airy after a brief illness. Elaine was born to Frederick Fuchs and Elsie Olive(nee Bauer) Fuchs. Loving wife of the late Roland Koontz, Sr. Mrs. Fuchs is survived by her son Roland Louis Koontz, Jr. of Mt. Airy and her daughter, Ruth Elaine Hewitt of Linthicum. She was also the Beloved Grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by 2 borthers and 4 sisters. Elaine graduated from Catonsville High School and then worked as a stenographer for Calvert Industries and a bookkeeper for Hein Hardware. She was a long time member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church where she served for many years in several aspects of the Sunday School Program. Along with her husband, she helped to found the mission congregation which is now the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Pasadena. Elaine was a charter member of the North Arundel Hospital (now BWMC) Auxiliary, a member of Daughters of America and also a memember of Women of the Moose. She enjoyed many things such as camping, travel, playing music, dancing, sewing and needlework of all kinds.
