Born Elizabeth Jackman in England on December 26, 1929 to the late William and Annie Beals Jackman, she moved to the United States in 1948. She worked as a medical secretary during her working life. A devout Catholic Betty was a former member of St. Clements Church in Lansdowne and recently a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Glen Burnie. She worked with Mary's Center to assist expectant mothers. Mrs. Dugan enjoyed cooking, reading, travel; including trips back to England. She is described by her sons as "a great Mom" who always put the needs of her family first. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded by her husband George Dugan, brother Phil Jackman, sisters Alice Atkins and Marie Bryant. Left to cherish her memory are sons Gregory Dugan of Pasadena, Shawn Dugan of Linthicum and Christopher Dugan, Sr. of Ellicott City, sister Margaret Swope of Glen Burnie as well as 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She passed away peacefully at the Rebecca Forney Inpatient Care Center of Hospice of the Chesapeake following a brief illness.
