Ella M. Holtman was born on Friday, January 30, 1942, in Baltimore City, Maryland to Nicholas J. and Marie G. (Pfeifer) Raab. Ella loved to bake and to read, she could never get enough reading in. She was a member of the Glen Burnie United Methodist Church and taught Bible Class for over 20 years there. Ella also volunteered for several years for NCEON. She had a beautiful vibrant smile for all she came in contact with, not to mention the ability to perk someone up with her sense of humor. She had a deep faith and was part of the Ruth-Rebekah Circle. Her love of family and friends was fierce.
She was very proud to complete college courses. She never drove until she was in her 40's and was so excited when she passed on her first try. She would be bop down the highway in her Ford Maverick with tunes cranked, courtesy of the stereo her son-in-law had put in for her. She was once pulled over and she sweet talked the trooper, telling him she didn't feel well.
Ella is preceded by her parents, Nicholas J. Raab and Marie G. (Pfeifer) Raab. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Holtman of Glen Burnie; daughter, Darlene E. Elwell (John) of Wyoming; and grandson, Nathan E. Elwell of Utah.
