Born Emma J. Paynter on April 13, 1928 in St. Ives Cornwall, England to the late John and Eva Paynter (nee Beckerleg). A resident of Glen Burnie since 1959 Mrs. Sims was a homemaker and an active member and past president of VFW Post # 160 Auxiliary and past president of the Military Order of Cootietes. She was also a member of the "Kacklin Krow Show" which entertained at Veterans Hospitals. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, volunteer work and visiting Veterans Hospitals. She is preceeded in death by her husband George E. Sims, Jr. and her son John P. Sims and is survived by her children George E. Sims, 3rd of Glen Burnie, Michael H. Sims of Florida, Kevin R. Sims of Brooklyn Park and Emma J. Woody of Severn. She is also survived by sisters Joan Wood, Mary Totter and Patricia Bolton, all of England as well as 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
