Emory Lee Hood was born October 8, 1941 in Baltimore, MD to the late Emory Lee and Elizabeth Tuerke Hood and was a resident of Glen Burnie for over 40 years. During his working life he was a printer for O.T. Smith Printing in Baltimore and later he worked as a groundskeeper for the Anne Arundel Dept. of Parks and Rec. For many years he coached soccer and he started the first girls’ soccer program in Baltimore City. Emory was inducted into the Maryland slow pitch softball hall of fame in 2014 as well as the Anne Arundel County Senior Softball Ass’n. Hall of fame. Always a sports fan, he was a passionate follower of Washington Capitals Hockey. In addition to his parents he is preceded by his wife Catherine Petrosky Hood, son Thomas Hood and brothers Bruce and Doug Hood. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Emily Hood of Miamisburg, OH, daughter in law Patricia Savage of Pittsburgh and grandchildren Matthew Cool, Jaynie Haines and Rose Hood.
