Obituary

Frank A. Traglia, age 78, of Baltimore, Maryland died on January 1, 2026, of a rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer.

He was a kind, empathetic, and positive man, who always put family first. He enjoyed frequent family dinners and pizza nights, cruising with his brother, Jim, and sister-in-law, Carm, and dining out with his wife, Loretta.

As the grandfather of 4 boys, 1 girl, and the great grandfather of a new baby boy, he was an avid sports fan: His first passion was the Baltimore Orioles, followed closely by Baltimore Ravens. He enjoyed international soccer matches and attending the boys’ baseball, soccer, and jiu jitsu matches and his granddaughter’s volleyball games and iceskating events. He also enjoyed a daily scrabble game with his wife of 39 years.

A proud Baltimore City College and Towson University graduate, his working career spanned the gamut from teaching middle school students to heading various State organizations designed to improve the lives of Maryland most vulnerable residents. Later employment opportunities included consulting roles for multiple international corporations.

In retirement, he enjoyed travel, watching cooking competitions on tv, doing laundry, and keeping the small apartment clean and well organized.

Frank is survived by his wife Loretta; his brother Jim Traglia and wife Carm; and their daughter Beth; his children Drew Traglia and his wife Beth Mayall, Kristan Stolze and her partner Mike and children Michael, Julia, and Jacob; and Jennifer Blair (deceased); his grandchildren Nick and partner Rachel, Zach, Tony, Kev, and Evie; and great grandchild Westin; and many close cousins and extended family members.

Funeral arrangements will be private.
