Franklin M. Berardino, 74, died on May 30, 2009 at his home in Palm Coast, FL. Franklin was born on April 26, 1935 in Uniontown, PA and attended the West Virginia University. He lived most of his life in Severn, MD before moving to Palm Coast five years ago.
Mr. Berardino served in the US Army and reserves for over 20 years. He was a chief warrant officer for the Army Reserves in the 949th Transportation Company – Curtis Bay, MD then the first Army Readiness Group at Fort G. Meade. He retired in 1996 from the 99th Regional Support Command. He enjoyed building antique cars, and loved engineering. Franklin was a member of the Tug Boaters Association in Curtis Bay and a previous member of the Moose.
Survivors include his beloved wife of five years, Mary Jane (nee Haller) of Palm Coast, FL; dear sisters, Mary Ann Williams and Barbara Newman of Palm Coast, FL; step-children, Brian Echard of Pasadena, MD, Laura Cline, Charles Chapman, and Donna Corbin all of Ridgely, MD; Twelve Step-Grandchildren and Five Step-Great-Grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Franklin was predeceased by his first wife of 36 years, Patricia J. (nee Echard) Berardino; parents, Anna (nee Sutak) and Leo Berardino; and step-son, Victor Echard.
