Frederick L. Lohrmann, Sr. was born February 23, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to the late Frederick O. and Ethel Bauer Lohrmann and he has lived in Glen Burnie for the last 24 years. Mr. Lohrmann proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1965. During his working life he worked as a Baltimore City Firefighter from 1969-1999. Fred was a graduate of Patterson High School and a member of Baltimore City Fire Dept. Retirees #43.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who in earlier times played baseball and billiards. He enjoyed family trips to the Outer Banks, a cold beer and cooking; his family called him “the crab master”.
In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded by his beloved wife of 51 years Loretta A. Lohrmann and brothers James, Michael and David Lohrmann. Left to cherish his memory are his son Frederick L. Lohrmann, Jr. of Glen Burnie, daughters Barbara A. Beyer of Dundalk and Dawn M. Herrera of Winter Haven, FL, brothers Thomas Lohrmann of Deltona, FL, George Lohrmann of Glen Burnie and sisters Rita Moore of Middle River and Dolores Kuhn of Essex. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Hospice of the Chesapeake in memory of Frederick.
