Gary Wayne Kirk

On February 24, 2009, Gary Wayne Kirk of Ferndale passed away from natural causes at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Born May 15, 1939 in Baltimore, Gary was a resident of Ferndale for 45 years. Beloved husband of 50 years to Cecile M. “Boots” Kirk (nee Pattie); Devoted father of Kathi S. Horrell of Georgia, Kenny F. Kirk of Easton, Robert W. Kirk of Pasadena and Lisa Dellapenna of Waldorf; Loving brother of Brent A. Kirk of Eastern Shore and Gregory L. Kirk of South Carolina; Cherished grandfather of Melissa Rheaume, Travis Horrell and Ryan, Megan and Kaitlyn Kirk and great-grandfather of Anton Rheaume.

Gary worked for NSA as a supervisor until retiring after 36 years. He then worked part-time for Hertz Rental and for 700 South Catering where he enjoyed some really good times with the new friends he had made. Gary enjoyed coaching sports team in the community. He also played Santa for the local schools and for NSA. Gary enjoyed good food and watching baseball and football (especially the Colts and later the Ravens). Most especially, Gary was a very outgoing man who enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandchildren and his many friends. His precious smile and contagious laugh will be missed by all who were blessed by it.
