George Joseph Himmel, III. was born on Tuesday, November 18, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland to George Joseph and Dorothy May (Eklund) Himmel, 2nd. George died peacefully under hospice care in his home surrounded by family on Saturday, December 31, 2022. George graduated from Brooklyn Park High School. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking, camping and traveling. He will be greatly missed.

George is preceded by his parents, George Joseph and Dorothy May (Eklund) Himmel, 2nd; his wife of 47 years, Joan Catherine (Kram) Himmel, III.; son, Ricky J. Himmel, Sr.; grandson, Terry J. Himmel, Jr.; and siblings, Robert Himmel, Sr. and Janet Estep. He is survived by his children, Terry J. Himmel, Sr. (Mary) of Centerville, George J. Himmel, IV. of Horntown, Va and Kimberly A. Vinyard (John) of Queen Anne; sister, Donna Clatchey of Ferndale; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may call the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral service Friday, 10am from the funeral home. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
