George W. “Rex” Rexrode, a resident of Glen Burnie since 1958, passed away on December 22, 2015. Born in Arbovale, WV to the late Arlie Cecil and Media Alice (Sponaugle) Rexrode on January 24, 1931. George was a machinist with American Can Co. for over 30 years and served his country with the Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #213, Moose Lodge and also the Elks. Rex liked hunting, fishing, farming, woodworking, carpentry, sports and horse racing. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary M. (Messina) Rexrode of Glen Burnie; sons, Daryell M. Rexrode of Glen Burnie, David B. Rexrode of Glen Burnie; daughter, Deborah L. Jackson of Severn; brother, Guy Rexrode of Elkridge; sister, Pearl Clarkson of Arbovale, WV; grandchildren, Jeremy Reed, Fallon LeGare, Jessica Rexrode; great grandchildren, Jack Reed, Brett Reed, Caroline LeGare and Elise LeGare. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brothers, Hubert Rexrode, Heartzel Rexrode; sisters, Irene Rexrode, Katherine Pugh, Icie Murphy and Creola Brubaker.
Friends and family may call at the family owned Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, P.A. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 10 am – 12pm. Funeral Service to be held Wednesday at 12pm. Interment in Crownsville MD Veterans Cemetery to follow service.
