Born January 27, 1942 in Front Royal, VA to Howard S. and Nettie P. Walter (nee Carter) and raised in various towns in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. George proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He retired from Bayer Chemical Company (Previously PEMCO) after more then 30 years of service in 1998. A member of the College Park Moose Lodge and the Patuxant Lapidery Guild. In his spare time George enjoyed rehabing old homes. Playing Cards, Caring for animals, Travel, trips to Dover and Las Vegas, making jewelry and helping neighbors and friends with projects around the house. As his family put it, "children and old ladies loved George". He is survived by his wife Mary M. Walter (nee Lehr) of Glen Burnie, a niece he raised as his daughter, Patricia Baker, sister Nettie Rinker of Edgewood,brothers Howard Walter of Yakima, WA, Harry Walter of Rock Hill, S.C. and David Walter of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. George passed away peacefully and Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
