Gerda Else Franklin

Born Gerda Else Sommerey in Gruneberg, Germany on May 19, 1933 to the late Otto and Else Horn Sommerey and she was a resident of Millersville, MD for over 50 years. In her working life she was a sales associate for the Hecht Company until 2005. Mrs. Franklin was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Millersville. She enjoyed painting and drawing, sewing, gardening, reading, frequent vacations to Germany to visit family, but the center of her life was her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by brother Hans Sommerey and sister Mariana Sommerey. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Constance Fortney of Millersville and her husband Russell, granddaughter Allison Fortney and her sister Brigitte Sommerey of Germany and her ex-husband Bob Franklin of Florida.
