Gilbert Thompson

Gilbert Thompson was born February 18, 1929 in Baltimore, MD to the late William and Mamie Thompson (nee Saylein) and has lived in Glen Burnie since 1969. Gilbert is a retired fire fighter in Baltimore City. He enjoyed doing home projects and caring for his home, walking the mall, food, talking with friends and neighbors and reading his paper.  The center of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his beloved wife Leona "Tootie" Thompson (nee Dougherty) and many of his brothers and sisters.  He is survived by his son Gilbert J. Thompson of Glen Burnie and his wife Lillian, his brother Donald Thompson of Baltimore, grandson Michael Thompson and his wife Laura, granddaughter Stephanie Hall and her husband Charlie as well as great-grandchildren Gavin, Carter and Cassidy Thompson.  Mr. Thompson passed away peacefully at St. Agnes Hospital following a brief illness.
