Gladys Marie Quade (nee Cooper) was born August 17, 1926 in Millersville, MD to the late Arthur and Vera Cooper (nee Deale). A graduate of Glen Burnie High School, Mrs. Quade's first job was placing orders for Montgomery Ward in Baltimore. In May of 1956 she married the love of her life Richard F. Quade; who was in the Air Force at the time; in Loris, SC and they were married for 55 years at the time of his passing in 2011. They settled down in Pasadena where she stayed home to raise her family. Her and her husband were active in the Glen Burnie Republican Club and were members of Elvaton Baptist Church. Gladys enjoyed gardening, reading, listening to talk radio and travel. Some of her favorite destinations were Bar Harbor, Maine, the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Black Water Falls, West Virginia. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Left to cherish her memory are sons Richard F. Quade, Jr. of San Francisco, CA, Stuart R. Quade of Pasadena, MD and Steven L. Quade of Silver Spring as well as sister Shirley Hess of Oxford, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Sarah, Rachel, Hannah, Tyler and Brandon and great grandchildren Iris, Graham and Esther. Her family will celebrate her life privately.
