“I am resting in the hand of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ, my life was not my own, I was bought
with a price, which is the blood of Jesus. I have picked up my cross and followed Him and now I
have won the victory” Matthew 16:24-26
It was late in the evening on August 4, 2024, when Gregory Brown went home to be with the Lord,
He left this world peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.
Gregory Brown, known by his family and friends as “Greg and also, Chip”, was born on July 17th ,
1956, son to the late Annie Brown of New York City. Greg was a proud African American man who
lived a life full of laughter, and compassion. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and
unwavering faith in God. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his infectious smile and
warm personality. As a youth he was enrolled in the marching cadet, in his later years graduated
from Dewitt Clinton High School in New York. Greg went on to study at Baruch College also in New
York. Greg was a member of New Restoration Church and Ministry, in Baltimore Maryland where
he served as Father of the church.
Gregory was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family and always put
their needs first. He worked various security jobs most of his life in New York and eventually
retired from Sinai Hospital as a security guard in Maryland.
Greg was a devoted husband to his wife and loved him some, Maud, and often referred to her as his
Boo! They were like twins, they had a great marriage, they enjoyed shopping at the grocery store
together and Maud enjoyed cooking food for him. In his free time Greg loved driving long distance
with his wife by his side, and eating her Caribbean cuisine.
Gregory is survived by his aunt, Lizabeth Isaac, whom he called Mom, she was the aunt that raised
him after his birth mother passed. He is survived by his wife, Maud A. Brown; his stepchildren,
Margaret Allen, Lynn Pitter, Ricardo Constantine, Ronald Carr, Jackie Constantine and Toney Pitter;
his grandchildren John Aiken, Patrick Riley and David Salmon and great grandchildren Jayden
Gordon, Lexy Joseph, and Teon Aiken, as well as first cousin Jacqueline Sanders and Carolyn
Sanders, Darryl Sanders and family, Steffan Sanders, Lisa Brown and Michelle Brown.
In the quiet moments when we feel the pain of his absence, let us find strength in the
promise of eternal life. Let us hold firmly onto the hope that we will one day be united with
Greg in the presence of our Lord. For today, we entrust Greg to God's care, knowing that he
will be sheltered for eternity under the wings of the Almighty.
We thank you, Lord, for the gift of Greg's life and for the time we were blessed to share with
him. We pray for comfort in our sorrow and peace in our hearts, as we celebrate the
memory of a man who was a blessing to us all. “In Jesus name, Amen.”
“You will always be remembered and forever cherished”
