On January 5, 2021, Helen Elizabeth Bateman, 107 of Glen Burnie, MD departed this life for her heavenly home with the Lord, peacefully in her sleep.
Born on May 13, 1913 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late Frank W. Bateman and Bessie Ola Bateman (nee Raymond) Helen grew up in Dudley, Massachusetts. After attended local schools, she attended and graduated from Nichols College. From 1935-1950 she was the postmaster of the Dudley Post Office. She took great pride in that position and greatly enjoyed her time as postmaster. She was a lifelong member of The Black Horse Tavern Historical Society in Dudley, MA.
Helen was a resident of Glen Burnie since 1955 and was a member of Glen Burnie Baptist Church since moving to the area over 60 years ago She was a longtime member of the Glen Burnie Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She began selling Stanley Home Products in the 1950's and continued to assist her dedicated customers until recent years.
Throughout her long & blessed life she met many people in her work, travels and church community. She made many life long friends along the way. Helen was a long time supporter of Billy Graham Ministries. She loved and served the Lord her entire life.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Raymond (Bill) Bateman, her husband Albert Bateman, her only son, Frank Bateman, niece, Alice Raye (Bateman) Chase.
She is survived her by daughter-in-law, Linda Bateman, nephew, Ellis (Cap) Bateman, great-niece, Jean Lerch, nephew, Fred Chase and his family, along with a host of many other relatives and dear friends.
Helen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Especially her dear kitty, Diego.

Friends may call at Glen Burnie Baptist Church, 7524 Old Stage Road, Glen Burnie, MD on Monday January 11, 2021. Viewing from 10-11am. Funeral services will begin at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Church
