Helen Marie Evans

Helen Marie Evans, 83, of Glen Burnie, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2009 at the Severna Park Center.  She had been ill for the last 8 months. Helen was born August 18, 1926 in Johnstown, PA. She spent the first 45 years of her life in Johnstown and she worked for the Bestform Foundations, Inc.  She moved to Browns Mills, New Jersey in the mid-1970s where she lived until she moved to Maryland in 1991. Helen enjoyed country music and going out to listen to the country bands. She liked playing bingo, going for walks, visiting with friends and relatives, doing word puzzles. Helen loved the color purple so much, she was known as the "Purple" lady.

Helen is survived by her sister, Barbara G. Jefferson, of Odenton and four Nieces, Sharon Kalin of Ellicott City, Pat Merrill of Glen Burnie, Kathleen Asbury of Sykesville, and Barbara "Shannon" Atkinson of Pasadena, MD; her nephew, Joseph Evans, Jr. of Johnstown, PA and sister-in-law, Matilda Evans of Johnstown, PA. She also has many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joesph and Anna Evans,  two brothers, Joseph and Andrew Evans and two sisters, Kay Kenney and Mary Lou Evans.
