Hessie Dale Cruise was born on August 9, 1927, in Richmond, Virginia to the late Troy and Hattie Peters
Cruise. She moved to Glen Burnie as a teenager where she has lived for over 80 years. She worked at
Maryland Glass and General Electric before transitioning to a homemaker. Hessie enjoyed crochet,
watching The Price Right, watching baseball especially the Baltimore Orioles (she loved Cal Ripken),
cooking and baking. She treasured time spent with family and loved her time spent with her
grandchildren. She is preceded by her husband James Walter Lockerman, Sr., daughter Carolyn Ann
Lockerman, her son James Walter Lockerman, Jr., stepmother Zella Cruise and six brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Margaret Lynn Warren (Joseph Warren) of Pasadena,
grandchildren Kimberly Worthington, Michele Stickell, Tina Liberto, and Amanda Drain. Great-
grandchildren Tommy, Megan, Michael, Adam, Sophia, Peyton, Dominic, Addy, Maxx, and great-great-
granddaughter Malina.
Family and friends may gather at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral Service on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Kirkley Ruddick Funeral Home, Interment immediately following at Magothy Church Cemetery.
