Howard D. Young, Sr., 94, a resident of Glen Burnie for over 62 years but was currently residing at the Glen Burnie Health and Rehab Center went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2014. Howard was born on December 22, 1919 in Baltimore to the late James and Martha Young. He served in the US Army from 1941 to 1945 where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart with two Clusters, American Defense Service metal and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal. He worked at Rubber Millers in Baltimore from 1949 until his retirement in 1982. He loved having his family over for Sunday dinners, playing cards and his dogs. In addition to his parents Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda M. Young of 57 years, his brother John who was killed in War II and his broth Merle. He is survived by his daughter Nelda and her husband Rock Schreiber of Indiana; his son Howard and wife Jean; Grandson Gregory and wife Elisabeth Young their son Samuel and daughters Sofia and Sadie; Grandson Jeffrey and wife Michelle Schreiber and their sons Ethan, Evan and daughters Elise, Elliana; Grandson Jason and wife Irene Young and their daughter Alora, and son Josiah; and Grandson Roger and wife Rebecca Young and their son Mason. He is also survived by his brother George and his wife Grace Young.
