Jack L. Childress was born May 31, 1931 in Charlotte County, VA to Joseph and Mildred Childress (nee Harper). Jack enjoyed a career as a truck driver that lasted over 60 years. He never had an accident or received a ticket while logging more then 3 Million miles. A resident of Brooklyn Park for 53 years. He enjoyed water skiing, Hot Rods, repairing small engines. He fixed all the children's bicycles and men's lawnmowers in the neighborhood. He was a long time and active member of Glen Burnie Baptist Church. Mr. Childress proudly served for two years with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Lois F. Childress (nee Crews), his son Kevin M. Childress of Brooklyn Park, sisters Jean Nash of Brookneal, VA, Lois Hicks of Keysville, VA, Barbara Baldwin of Pamplin, VA. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Calvin Childress and his sister Frances Johnson.
