James Michael Addis was born in Baltimore, MD on May 22, 1948 to James and Grace Addis (nee Valdivia) and live in the Glen Burnie area for over 45 Years. He worked as quality control inspector for Kopoflex for 39 years prior to his retirement. A graduate of City High School in Baltimore, Jim served honorably in the Coast Guard during Viet Nam conflict aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Half Moon. He served in Viet Nam for 2 years and received National Defense Medal, Bronze Star, Viet Nam Service Medal, Good Conduct Metal and the Viet Nam Campaign Medal. He was an avid Orioles and Ravens Fan as well as a NASCAR fan where Jeff Gordon was his favorite driver. Jim also enjoyed Astronomy and trips to Ocean City. He is survived by his wife Kathy Addis (nee Phillips) of Glen Burnie , his son Steven M. Addis of Glen Burnie, daughter Laura Addis of Sherman, TX, brother Richard Addis of LaLuz, NM, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Alexis Addis of Glen Burnie and Carbrina and Dylan Addis of Sherman, TX. He will also be missed by his first wife Sharon L. Anderson, special cousins Buzzy and Jessie Valdivia, brother and sister in law Joan and David Alderson of Boone, NC and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Jim passed away suddenly at his home on August 14.
