Joan Jill Sakamoto was born in Hilo, Hawaii on, August 7, 1963 to the late Jack and May Sakamoto. Joan has been a resident of Glen Burnie for the past 20 years since moving from Hawaii. She worked as a teacher at Sylvan and also did floral design at a local florist.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings Rian Sakamoto and his wife Millie, Michael Sakamoto, and her aunt Pearl Tanemura.
Ms. Sakamoto passed away April 8, 2019. A memorial gathering will take place Friday, May 10, 2019 from 4pm-5pm , with a memorial service beginning at 5pm at Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home.
