Joan Wade

She was born Joan Shives on October 2, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to the late Charles and Artenius Hornbaker Shives and she was a lifetime resident of Anne Arundel County. She was a graduate of Severna Park High School. Mrs. Wade was an active member of Glen Burnie United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, she was an avid reader who enjoyed doing puzzle books and watching Joe Kenda murder mysteries.  Joan also enjoyed her family’s weekly game of Sequence.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her beloved daughter Leslie E. Wade as well as 8 brothers and a sister. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Russell Calvin Wade of Millersville, daughters Kelly D. Porter (Jeff) of Millersville and Amy B. Dunn (Michael) of Pasadena, brother William Shives of Glen Burnie, cherished grandchildren Kaitlin N. and Joseph J. Digiacinto, Brendan W., Garrett A, Collin J. & Matthew T. Dunn and Garrett and Addison Collins. Memorial Contributions to Glen Burnie United Methodist Church or the American Lung Association in Mrs. Wade’s name will be appreciated by the family.
