Johannes H.P. "Hans" Pieters, Jr. was born May 21, 1952 in Baltimore, MD to the late Johannes H.P. Pieters, Sr. and Ruth Williams Pieters. He was a resident of Fairfax, VA for the past 34 years, living in Glen Burnie and Severna Park prior to that. Johannes worked for many years as a ramp worker for United Airlines prior to his retirement. He enjoyed traveling to Civil War battlefields and National Parks on his Harley Davidson Ultra Classic and he taught CCD and adult religious education classes for 20 years. His last classes were at St. Veronica's Catholic Church in Chantilly, VA. He was also a huge fan of the Texas A&M Aggies football team. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Circee J. Groff Pieters of Fairfax and daughters Stacey M. Pieters of Fairfax and Erika N. Haymes of Bristow, VA as well as brothers Pierre Pieters of Glen Burnie and Philip Pieters, M.D. of Manakin, VA. He is also survived by cherished grandchildren Caleb, Brody, Kaylee and Reese Davis. He passed away peacefully at his home following an extended illness.
