John Ellwood Adams, Jr. was born March 4, 1926 in Baltimore, MD to John Ellwood Adams, Sr. and Marie A. Adams (nee Albert) . A lifetime resident of the area, John lived in Glen Burnie for over 60 years. A veteran of the Marine Corps, he served during WWII. Professionally, he was a driver for the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. After retirement Mr. Adams worked as a volunteer in the Harbor Hospital Emergency room for over 25 years as well as working as a funeral assistant for Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home. An avid sports fan, he was active in little league when his children were young and also enjoyed watching his grandchildren's games in latter years. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his stepmother Elizabeth Adams (nee Keller) and a sister Dorothy Langelotto. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Charlotte M. Adams (nee Melton) of Pasadena, his son Scott D. Adams of Glen Burnie, daughter Patricia M. Armstrong and her husband Leonard of Westminster, brother Edward Adams of Baltimore and sister Thelma Poniatowski of Baltimore. He is also survived by beloved grandchildren Timothy Armstrong, Jennifer L. Bishop and Cindy L. Burkovich and cherished great-grandchildren Ethan and Aiden Haines, Austin Shaeffer, Nathan and Amelia Armstrong, Emily and Logan Burkovich. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
