John Joseph Heiss was born August 2, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Raymond and Vivian Pauline Wills Heiss. He has lived in Littlestown, PA for the past 4 years after living in West Virginia for many years. He spent his childhood in Pasadena. Mr. Heiss worked as a Sergeant at the Maryland Penitentiary. He was a member of the Republican Committee of Barbour County West Virginia as well as a Civil War Reenactor. In earlier days John enjoyed hunting and playing board games. He enjoyed caring for his animals, rooting for the West Virginia Mountaineers football team, and watching old westerns on TV.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers David and Mark Heiss, grandson Michael Canter and great-granddaughter Alaina Canter. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Kay F. Pardoe Heiss of Littlestown, PA, son John Joseph Heiss, Jr. of Lansdowne, daughter Pamela Dawn Henderson of Annapolis. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and God daughter Sabrina Taylor.
Family and friends may visit at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, September 11th, 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Funeral service on Friday, September 12th, 12:00pm. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery to follow immediately after the service.
